Fethiye Day Trips: Day Trip Routes, Distances and Durations

A guide to Fethiye day trips: boat tours, Kayaköy, Saklıkent, Dalyan, Rhodes and departures from Antalya; distances, durations and booking tips.

The most relaxed plan for Fethiye day trips is to stay in Fethiye and devote the day to a single area: boat tours and bays, the Kayaköy area, the Saklıkent and Tlos route, or Dalyan. Most routes start 30 minutes to 1.5 hours from your hotel and last from half a day to a full day. A day trip from Antalya to Fethiye is possible, but the journey is very long; I explain why below.

Which day trip routes can you take from Fethiye?

As the area is spread out, it helps to plan the routes by direction. Durations are approximate and vary with traffic and season.

Don't combine two distant routes in one day. Time spent on the road takes up most of the plan.

How does a day boat tour from Fethiye work?

Day tours by gulet or large boat in the Gulf of Fethiye usually follow a pattern of setting off in the morning and returning in the late afternoon. Swimming stops are made in the bays, and lunch is eaten on board. Which bays you visit depends on the boat's route and the sea conditions that day. When booking, be sure to check the route, meal and transfer details.

In mid-October the sea is still swimmable, but evenings draw in early and the wind changes from day to day. Boats that leave early in the morning may have to turn back at exactly the set time, so find out the return time.

Can you do a day trip from Antalya to Fethiye?

I wouldn't recommend it. The distance between Antalya and Fethiye by road is about 300 km, and the transfer takes around 4–5 hours depending on the road and traffic. A return trip is essentially a day spent on the road, leaving very little time for the excursion. If you want to see Fethiye, staying one or two nights there is far more worthwhile.

If you are staying in Antalya and want a day on the water, there is an option close to the city that saves you the journey: Antalya: Suluada Island Cruise w/Lunch & Hotel Transfer The Suluada Island boat trip, with hotel transfer and lunch, lasts about 7.5 hours. You reach the bays without losing time on the road.

Is a day trip from Fethiye to Rhodes possible?

Seasonal ferry services from Fethiye to Rhodes may run, but days and times change frequently and sailings may decrease towards the end of October. Check your passport and visa requirements for entry to Greece in advance. Rhodes is not among the tours listed in this article. Do not plan without confirming sailing days with an agency's current information.

What can you do in half a day? Quad safari around Kayaköy

If you don't want a boat trip or a long drive, one of the most action-packed half-day options in Fethiye is the Fethiye: Quad Safari with Buggy Option and Door-to-Door Pickup: an approximately 3-hour quad safari. The route runs around the Kayaköy area, along unpaved tracks through pine forests and rocky ridges. When booking, you can choose a single quad, a double quad, or a sturdier buggy shared with others. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included.

Practical tips:

A morning quad ride followed by a walk in Kayaköy in the afternoon, or time on the beach at Ölüdeniz, makes a lovely half-day plan.

How do you book Fethiye tours?

First choose the area you want to visit, then check the duration and transport details (hotel transfer, meeting point, return time). At TurB2C, tours are operated by licensed local agencies in Türkiye. The booking page states the tour duration, what's included and the cancellation conditions. As days are short in October, tours that start early in the morning let you see more.
